POLITICAL OR ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE OF A NATION: WHICH IS RELEVANT?

POLITICAL OR ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE OF A NATION: WHICH IS RELEVANT?

POLITICAL OR ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE OF A NATION: WHICH IS RELEVANT?

The political independence of a nation cannot become a reality unless that country is economically liberated. Once the economy is unstable, being exploited by Western imperialism or neocolonialism, that nation is still living in the area of slavery or economic enslavement. Until Africans are allowed to manage their resources by themselves and until Western economies come to Africa and begin to open up their multinational corporations and companies and manufacturing industries here in Mother Africa and not carry our resources and raw materials away to create millions of jobs far away in their countries while our African nations and our people are impoverished or left in poverty; we will keep slumbering deep down the path of total dependence for supply of the basics from the West, whereas we are actually the producers of 60% of the world’s mineral resources. Africa and her government must wake up to these existential realities of life. Africa must first liberate herself economically in order to be liberated politically. Power is in the resources not in the offices. If we can control our resources we will control the politics of the world.

As President of Africans for Africa’s Liberation Organization (AFALO), I strongly advocate in line with our organizational policies, the economic freedom of Africa as the most relevant platform for the political liberation of the continent.
